London Tango Calendar

Originally set up due to the closure of the previous popular and well-loved resource Arlene's London Tango Pages which immensely inspired us ♡ back in 2012 aiming to help visitors from abroad or anyone new to the London Tango scene locate Milonga venues. Predominantly the focus was and still is very much on venues that cater for "Traditional" Argentine Tango and mainly in and around central London.

To date the primary website alone has accumulated in excess of a quarter million visitors and regularly receives 5000+ visitors monthly from places like Italy, Germany, Ireland, France, Russia, Spain, Belgium, Sweden & United States among many others as well as a growing UK following. It has proved to be a useful resource over the years and is invaluable to the growing number of people who are not willing to rely purely on information scattered across Facebook or perhaps are unwilling to use Facebook for one reason or another.

However as with everything, time, resources & people behind this calendar have moved on or away from London. As such we have decided to open our calendar to organisers & local Tanguer@s who want to contribute & support this valued resource.

Starting January 2019 the [London Tango Calendar] and all associated websites are gradually being transformed into fully fledged community projects where everyone is welcome to contribute or work with us in a administrative or technical capacity.

London hosts a rich & diverse Tango culture

London is one of the most cosmopolitan cities on our planet and not only a great holiday or weekend break destination but also a surprising melting pot of Tango dancers from across Europe and beyond.

Many of us here also travel far & wide for our Tango kicks but are just as happy to go dancing back home during the week when we are in town. The standard & level of dancers is constantly improving and we have a high turn around of Tango dancers that stay with us for lengthy periods, all of who enrich our overall dance experience.

London may not immediately come to mind as a Tango destination, perhaps due to the slightly higher than average costs if you visit as a tourist, but due to the diverse Tango community there is bound to be a few friendly faces and if possible you could arrange a couch or spare room with a mate^** and then London may very well turn into an absolutely fabulous Tango destination.
